BELGIUM – Dieffenbacher and Unilin Technologies announced a cooperation agreement to commercialize Osiris, Unilin’s patented fiberboard recycling technology.
This partnership enhances both companies’ commitment to sustainability in the flooring and panel industries by enabling full recycling of wood fiberboards like MDF and HDF, including post-consumer materials. Dieffenbacher will be the preferred partner for integrating Osiris technology into fiberboard production globally.
The Osiris technology uses a steam explosion process to recover high-quality recycled fibers from waste fiberboard and has been validated at Unilin’s Bazeilles plant in France since 2022. This technology not only advances the circular economy but also offers a cost-effective solution for wood fiber supply with a strong return on investment.
Bart Van der Stockt, President of Unilin Technologies, stated, “Partnering with Dieffenbacher is a critical step in rolling out Osiris across the fiberboard industry. Sustainability is essential, and together we can extend our positive environmental impact while reducing production costs for new fiberboard.”
Jean-Christophe Zimmermann, Head of Sales at Dieffenbacher, added, “This cooperation with Unilin Technologies represents a significant step in transforming the fiberboard industry toward sustainability.” Together, Dieffenbacher and Unilin aim to drive innovative change in fiberboard production and contribute to the circular economy.
