MEXICO - Ikea announced the opening of its online store for Mexico, which will be available from Monday, October 12 in Mexico City and the Metropolitan Area.

The Swedish firm specializing in furniture and other home products had already announced its arrival in the country, with the opening of a 23,000-square-meter physical store, however, this will be open in 2021.

The IKEA physical store will be in the City from Mexico, in the Encuentro Oceanía shopping center. It is worth mentioning that the original plan was to open the physical IKEA store in Mexico City this year, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the plans had to be postponed until 2021.

But online orders can already be made from its official website with different payment options and services.

The company's online store has 18 categories, which include products for bathroom, furniture, textiles, babies and children, decoration, home security, among others, with shipping costs from 79 pesos (USD 3.80) in purchases of up to 24 kilograms, while bulky packages will have a shipping cost of 500 pesos (USD 23.70), which can be complemented with furniture assembly service for 900 extra pesos (USD 42.57).
