Peruvian Particleboard / MDP Imports Decline in 7M-2024

PERU – In the first seven months of 2024 (7M-2024), Peru’s imports of particleboard / MDP totaled approximately USD 78.89 million, marking a 12.6% decrease compared to USD 90.31 million during the same period in 2023.

Key countries of origin included Ecuador, which accounted for USD 38.59 million, representing an 11.3% decrease, and Spain, at USD 18.29 million, reflecting a 14.0% decrease. In contrast, Brazil saw an increase of 15.6%, totaling USD 11.82 million, while Chile experienced a decline of 33.8%, amounting to USD 8.95 million.

The major importers in Peru reflected similar trends in the market. Novopan Peru led with USD 37.77 million, down 11.8% from the previous year. Representaciones Martin followed with USD 13.74 million, facing a drop of 37.2%.

On the other hand, Maderas America reported an increase of 17.6%, reaching USD7.54 million, and Inversiones Jocema had a surge of 309.8%, totaling USD 4.27 million. Other companies like Grupo Yofasa also saw significant growth.
