SPAIN – The value of Spanish particleboard (PB / MDP) exports reached USD 366.04 million in the first nine months of 2023 (9M-2023), registering an increase of USD 19.40 million or 5.6% compared to 9M-2022 (USD 346.63 million).

Portugal remained the main foreign market for Spanish PB/MDP, experiencing a 17.1% increase from USD 87.97 million in 9M-2022 to USD 102.97 million in 9M-2023.

Spanish PB/MDP shipments to France tripled, reaching USD 57.53 million in 9M-2023 (9M-2022: USD 18.79 million), consolidating France as the second most important external market for Spanish particleboard.

Peru, as the third most significant foreign market for Spanish PB / MDP and the main Latin American market, experienced a slight increase of 2.4% in shipments, reaching USD 32.95 million in 9M-2023 (9M-2022: USD 32.19 million). Mexico and the Dominican Republic followed as the main markets in Latin America, with PB/ MDP shipments from Spain of USD 10.93 million and USD 6.54 million, respectively, representing improvements of 275.1% and 6.16%.
