PERU – Peruvian imports of particleboard (PB / MDP) reached USD 27.1 million in the period January-February 2023.
A drop of 7.0 percent compared to the same period of 2022 (2M-2022: USD 29.1 million). The main importers of PB/MDP to the Peruvian market were Novopan Peru with USD 11.55 million, an increase of 3.6 percent over the same period of 2022 (USD 11.15 million).
It was followed by Representaciones Martin with USD 7.50 million, an increase of 6.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year (USD 7.07 million). Arauco Perú with USD 3.69 million (-6.5%),Then came Maderas América with USD 2.03 million (+14.2%) and Masisa Perú with USD 684 thousand (-57.6%).
Ecuador was again the main supplier country of PB / MDP to Peru in the first two months of 2023 with shipments valued at USD 11.80 million, representing an increase of 4.9 percent when compared to the same period of 2022 (2M-2022: USD 11.24 million).
Spain maintained its position as the second main supplier country with USD 7.08 million, a 5.0 percent drop compared to the USD 7.45 million shipped to Peru in the first two months of 2022.
Chile was the third supplier country in 2M-2023 with USD 4.95 million, a decrease of 5.0 percent (2M-2022: USD 5.21 million).
They were followed by Brazil with USD 2.98 million (2M-2022: USD 4.89 million). The largest decrease among the main supplier countries of the Peruvian market in the first two months of the year (-59.6 percent)
