ECUADOR – In September 2024, Ecuador’s particleboard exports reached USD 18.2 million FOB, marking a 15.6% increase from the previous year.
The primary destination countries for Ecuadorian exports were Colombia, Peru, and Panama. Exports to Colombia grew by 24.8% to USD 9.66 million, while exports to Peru slightly decreased by 2.9%, totaling USD 6.13 million. Exports to the USA experienced a dramatic 641.5% increase, reaching USD 552,335, while exports to Chile surged by an impressive 1,210.1%, totaling USD 218,096.
For the year-to-date period from January to September 2024, Ecuador’s total particleboard exports amounted to USD 151.13 million, a slight 0.6% decrease from the same period in 2023.
Exports to Colombia remained stable with a marginal 0.1% increase. Meanwhile, exports to Peru declined by 10.7%, and exports to Mexico increased by 21.9%. The USA showed significant growth, with a 35.2% rise in exports. The Dominican Republic saw a decline of 30.1%, and “Other” destinations showed a remarkable increase of 87.6%.
Among the top exporters, Novopan Del Ecuador maintained its dominant position with USD 149 million in exports, representing a slight 0.6% decline from 2023. Aglomerados Cotopaxi, with USD 2.09 million in exports, saw a positive 8.0% growth.
