BRAZIL – Brazilian wooden furniture exports reached USD 164.87 million in the first three months of 2022 (1Q-2022). This represented a 7.6 per cent increase compared to the same period 2021 (USD 153.23 million).
The US was again the main export market for Brazilian wooden furniture in the 1Q-2022 with USD 62.47 million compared to USD 59.15 million in the 1Q-2021 (+5.6%). Exports to the United Kingdom surpassed exports to Chile in the 1Q-2022 reaching USD 16.18 million, compared to USD 14.87 million in the same period of last year. Exports to Chile were down 21.2% to USD 14.47 million from USD 18.35 million in the 1Q-2021.
Peru and Uruguay followed as the main export markets for Brazilian wooden furniture in the 1Q-2022 with USD 11.67 million and USD 6.17 million respectively. Exports to Perú were up 4.1% compared to 1Q-2021 while export to Uruguay were down 5.4%.
Santa Catarina and Rio Grande Do Sul were as usual the top two Brazilian wooden furniture exporting states in the 1Q-2022 with USD 71.72 million (1Q-2021: USD 69.36 million) and USD 50.24 million (USD 44.34 million) that represented increases of 3.4% and 13.3% respectively.
Parana and Sao Paulo followed as the main wooden furniture Brazilian exporting states with USD 22.95 million and USD 15.43 million.
