FRANCE – Swiss Krono S.A.S., the French subsidiary of the Swiss Krono Group, is dedicated to enhancing environmental sustainability.
With a focus on utilizing recycled wood for particleboard production, the company began this initiative a decade ago, reaching 50% recycled wood in 2019. To further increase this share, Swiss Krono engaged Dieffenbacher to modernize its wood recycling line. Two years later, the collaboration has successfully elevated the recycled wood proportion from 50% to around 65%.
The choice of Dieffenbacher was influenced not only by the compelling solution and fair pricing but also by the strong connection with their team, especially Jean-Marc Domecq, the local representative in France. Dieffenbacher’s solution included advanced technologies like a stone separator, X-ray sorting, flip-flop screen, sifting tables, and a MAIER Prallfiner.
Despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the collaboration remained excellent, with solutions found for every issue. Dieffenbacher’s 3D scan of existing structures during the engineering phase proved crucial for seamless integration and effective communication.
The Dieffenbacher solution not only increased the recycled wood share but also improved overall cleanliness, crucial in handling dust generated during recycled wood processing. The new line is more manageable to keep clean than the previous one.
Swiss Krono also achieved its goal of ensuring impeccable board quality while increasing the recycled wood ratio. Previously, customer complaints about metal parts damaging machinery were addressed with the implementation of Dieffenbacher equipment, resulting in zero complaints. Swiss Krono expresses satisfaction and recommends Dieffenbacher recycling solutions.
