E-Commerce Drives Growth in Europe’s RTA Furniture Sector

ITALY – The ready-to-assemble (RTA) / flat-pack furniture sector continues to hold a major share in the European furniture market, accounting for more than 20% of total consumption on average.

This growth is largely driven by the rapid expansion of e-commerce, which now represents an estimated 15% of the entire European RTA furniture market. This increase in online sales is not only attributed to pure e-tailers and marketplaces, but also brick-and-click furniture retailers and DIY stores.

The shift to online purchasing has prompted manufacturers to adapt, with many RTA furniture companies re-engineering their supply chains. These changes include developing lighter, more compact designs, streamlining product packaging, and ensuring faster delivery to meet the rising demand from e-commerce platforms.

In response to this growing market, CSIL’s new report, “The European Market for RTA Furniture,” is now available for purchase. The report offers an in-depth analysis of the European RTA furniture market, covering 15 countries and providing essential insights into sector growth, competitive landscape, supply structures, and distribution channels. It includes data on more than 230 RTA manufacturers and examines the types of products, materials, and finishes offered, as well as the market evolution and forecasts.

The report is now available for immediate download or email order through CSIL via this link.
