Ikea Spain increases turnover more than 10%

SPAIN – In the year 2015 the operation of Ikea in Spain reached 1,281 million euros of total revenue, 10.7% more than in the previous year.

The global furniture retail leader, that this year celebrates its 20th anniversary in the country, recorded an EBITDA of 91.8 million euros, an increase of 16% over the previous year. Revenue for 2015 exceeded 78 million euros, 43.6% more than in the previous year. At year-end 2015, the IKEA workforce totaled 7,254 employees.

Ikea came to Spain in 1996, with its first store in Badalona (Barcelona) and later in the same year, with its establishment in Alcorcón (Madrid). The IKEA Group currently has 16 stores in the country located in Alcorcon, San Sebastián de los Reyes, Ensanche de Vallecas (Madrid), Badalona, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat and Sabadell (Barcelona), Castilleja de la Cuesta (Sevilla), Malaga, Jerez (Cádiz), Barakaldo (Vizcaya), Pola de Siero (Asturias), Murcia, Zaragoza, a Coruña and Arroyo de la Encomienda (Valladolid) and Alfafar (Valencia). It also has the Delivery Point of Navarra and two distribution centers in Valls (Tarragona) that supply products to the company stores in southwest Europe.
