CHILE – In the first eight months of 2016 Chilean plastic edgeband exports reached USD 2,929,594 compared to USD 3,260,975 in the same period 2015.

Argentina displaced Colombia as the main export market for Chilean plastic edgebands with a 5.4% increase to USD 707,001 in the period (2015: USD 670,646), while exports to Colombia were down 46.5% reaching USD 606,874 compared to USD 1,134,224 in the same period 2015.

Ecuador was the fastest growing export market for Chilean edgebands with USD 543,096 in the first eight months of 2016 compared to USD 348,437 in the same period 2015 and a 59.4% increase. Exports to Peru, the fourth market in importance, were down 32.2% reaching USD 455,982 compared to USD 672,073 in the same period 2015.
