ARGENTINA – With the aim of improving the competiveness of Argentina’s furniture industry, the Furniture Technology Center (FTC) opened its doors at the Industrial Park in Cañada de Gomez, considered the Argentine furniture capital.
The first FTC in the country was inaugurated with an official ceremony that included the participation of Governor Miguel Lifschtiz, Mayor Stella Maris Clérici, Minister of Production Alicia Ciciliani, FTC president César Federici as well as authorities of the institutions members of the project.
The FTC is a joint initiative of the public and private sectors. Its general objective is to substantially improve the competitiveness of the furniture industry, increasing its potential and the placement of its products in national and international markets. It will operate in a sustained manner providing technical support to the furniture plants and their value chain. Boosting research, development, innovation and design actions, and accelerating the generation and transfer of technology and knowledge.
“The strategies of the past over time become obsolete and we have to think about how we configure companies so they can compete in the future, which is why we think that this tool is vital for growth and for the sector to have more strength in the future”, highlighted César Federici, president of the FTC.
