CHILE (Notifix).- On September 10, 2013, the FSC-accredited certification body, Woodmark, issued certificate number SA-FM/COC-004173 to Arauco, verifying that all the company’s forest holdings in Chile are being managed in compliance with the rigorous standards of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). 

The certificate is valid for a period of five years and independent third-party audits of Arauco’s forest operations will be conducted annually to verify continued compliance with this standard.

Alvaro Saavedra, Forestry Business Corporate Manager, acknowledged and thanked the team of Forestal Arauco for their four years of dedication into obtaining this certification. “The granting of this seal is both the end of a stage and the beginning of an even greater challenge. From today on we should be able to continue the dialogue, strengthen change and enhance the continuous improvement of our processes. Only in this way can we fulfill steadily over time all the Principles and Criteria of the FSC”, he added.
