GERMANY (Notifix).- During the first quarter of 2013, Surteco SE, generated sales of EUR 99.2 million euros, 7 % below the volume of 1Q 2012. Sales in the domestic market fell back by 12 % and foreign sales fell by 5 %. The foreign sales ratio increased by two percentage points to 68%.

After the first three months of the business year, the Plastics Strategic Business Unit closed with sales of 58.1 million euros (-8 %). The paper segment generated 41.1 million euros (-7 %).

During the first quarter of 2013, the operating result (EBITDA) of the SURTECO Group amounted to 13.3 million euros (-2 %). The pretax result (EBT) rose by 7 % to 6.1 million euros. Net consolidated profit amounted to 4.0 million euros (2012: 3.8 million euros) after the first three months of the business year.

The Surteco SE companies are involved in the development, design, manufacture and sale of surface materials based on paper and plastic, such as edges and foils, technical extrusions (profiles) and decorative printing.

Surteco manufactures its products worldwide at 15 sites on four continents. The Group has sales offices at another 15 locations.
