COLOMBIA – Primadera, manufacturer of MDP particleboards, launched its new Solum collection of melamine boards, inspired by a selection of different Colombian soils.

881PRIMADERA ChecuaThe Solum collection comprises four designs. Three of them: Suesca, Tausa and Checua, are stone designs and the fourth design, Iguaque, is a wooded board with a fishbone design.

Suesca, is a limestone design with a range of warm white and ivory tones, subtle veins of calcite in sepias tones intersected in a modern and fresh structure. It is inspired by the stone-contrasting landscape of the Suesca, Cundinamarca area.

Checua is a marbled stone design in a range of warm brown tones, with grayish variations and golden veins that imprint on it a strong character and personality. It takes its name from the desert full of caves that is preserved as a hidden gem near Bogota, where fossils and archaeological remains rest. Its rocky panorama is dominated by vibrant, brown, yellow and reddish tones.

Tausa is a limestone design with a modern and dramatic look. It has a base of classic and timeless gray tones, conjugated with marked warm veins that section its structure to give a metallic effect.

This design takes its name from the geological treasure located in the Farallones of Sutatausa and one of the most imposing rock formations of the Cundiboyacense plateau.

Iguaque, inspired by the beauty of the espeletia shrubs. This design reflects on the intricacy of its details: from its leaves to the freshness of its color. The Iguaque design is a wood that combines a traditional structure of veins and cathedrals, with a delicate design in chevron that enforces a fishbone effect, its set of colors in sand tones make it a neutral and luminous wood that provides a feeling of well-being.

This design is inspired by the Iguaque lagoon, one of the seven sacred lagoons of Muisca indigenous culture, and its name means “vigorous mountain” in Chibcha.
