Masisa reversed its losses and reaches a profit of USD 23.2 million in 2021
CHILE – Chilean wood panel manufacturer Masisa reversed losses recorded in 2020 with a profit of USD 23.2 million in 2021, which compares with losses of USD 160.4 the previous year.
Very Good Results for Arauco in 2021
CHILE – Arauco’s sales revenue reached USD 1,742.4 million during the fourth quarter of 2021 (4Q-2021). For FY 2021, revenues reached USD 6,349.8 million, a USD 1,616.9 million increase when compared to the USD 4,732.9 million of 2020.
Biesse reports Strong Profit increase in 2021
ITALY – The Biesse Group, a global leader in the manufacture of woodworking technology, reported sales revenues of EUR 742.2 million in 2021 an increase of 28.2 per cent compared to 2020 and +5.1% compared to 2019.

BRAZIL – As reported by IBA (Brazilian Tree Industry), in 2021 the consumption of wood-based panels (Particleboard/MDP, MDF and Hardboard) in Brazil reached 8.25 million m3, an increase of 15.4 percent compared to the 7.15 million m3 reached in 2020.

ECUADOR – Ecuadorian exports of particleboard (PB/MDP) reached USD 198.17 million in 2021, a growth of 53.7 per cent compared to the previous year (2020: USD 128.96 million) and 54.69 per cent compared to 2019 (USD 128.10 million).

Movelsul Brasil 2020 has been postponed
BRAZIL – Movelsul Brasil, the largest furniture fair in Latin America programmed to be held from 16 to 19 March in the Event Park of Bento Gonçalves announced its postponement on Friday 13th, when the 251 exhibitors – furniture companies throughout Brazil of the high-scale segments, decoration, projected furniture and corporate furniture, as well as technologies and visitor services – were taken care of final preparations.
New date 2020 for Holz-Handwerk
GERMANY – In view of the increasing spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and taking into account the principles for risk assessment of major events adopted by the crisis management group of the German government and the current recommendation of the Bavarian State Government for international exhibitions, VDMA Woodworking Machinery and NürnbergMesse have decided to postpone Holz-Handwerk together with Fensterbau Frontale 2020 to Tuesday, 16 June until Friday, 19 June 2020.

AUSTRALIA – At the AWISA Ltd board meeting on Friday 6 March the decision was made to postpone the AWISA exhibition planned for 1-4 July 2020. The reasons all relate to coronavirus.
