CHILE – The value of Chilean exports of particleboard (PB/MDP) grew 6.0 percent in the first three months of 2023 (1Q-2023) reaching USD 22.72 million, compared to USD 21.44 million in the same period of 2022.

Garnica to Build a New Plywood Factory in Uruguay
SPAIN – Garnica will open a new factory in Uruguay, the first factory in the Americas, in whose final stage finished plywood panels will be produced. The factory will be located in the city of Treinta y Tres, located in the northeast of the country, in the region of the same name.

FINLAND – Raute Corporation has signed a contract worth EUR 44.6 million with the french Thebault Group for the technology delivery of a new greenfield LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) production plant.
Kronospan Initiates Particleboard Production in Tortosa, Spain
SPAIN – With an investment of more than EUR 400 million, this new Kronospan plant is one of the largest foreign investments ever recorded in the area and will lead to the creation of around 180 direct jobs and around 1,500 additional indirect jobs in timber supply, logistics, maintenance, and services.

COLOMBIA- Colombian imports of particleboard (PB / MDP) reached USD 140.41 million in 2021 an increase of 39.5 per cent compared to 2020 (USD 100.67 million) and 38.7 per cent compared to 2019 (USD 101.26 million).

LP South America obtains PEFC forest certification
CHILE – LP South America obtained certification from the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) under the new Chain of Custody Standard (ST 2002:2020), making it the first company in Chile to obtain this certification, which covers the manufacture of its products from the Panguipulli, Lautaro and Ponta Grossa (Brazil) plants.
