SPAIN (Notifix).- On June 4th Austria’s Kronospan, Representations Martin of Peru and Qatar’s Ensunt Holdings, took part in an auction to acquire Interpanel, the MDF producer and subsidiary of the Tablicia Group in liquidation. With an offer of € 20 million Kronospan out bided its competitors, thus strengthening its presence in Spain, where it has completed three acquisitions in less than a year.

Kronospan is the world leader in the manufacture of panelboards with 34 plants, most of them in Europe, and a workforce of 11,000 employees. Kronospan boasts an installed capacity at the end of 2012 of 15.8 million m3, more than double its closest competitor, the Portuguese Sonae Industria at an installed capacity is 6.6 million m3.
