GERMANY – Australian Borg Manufacturing Pty. Ltd. orders a new particleboard plant, plus one retrofitting concept for an existing MDF plant, from German Siempelkamp.
The new particleboard plant will be set up in Oberon in the Australian state of New South Wales, where Borg Manufacturing operates a facility for wood-panel surfacing. With this investment the company now strives for more autonomy by replacing particleboard purchases with product from their own production facility. The order includes a Generation 8-ContiRoll® (pressing format 8’ x 40.4 m, designed for an output of 1,500 m³/day).
Also at its Oberon location Borg is investing in a retrofitting concept for an MDF-plant made by Siempelkamp. The upgrade comprises, amongst others, the upgrading of the ContiRoll® to the latest technical standard, the installation of a completely flexible press infeed and the updating of the hydraulic system. With the upgrade Borg Manufacturing Pty. Ltd. will benefit by increasing the plant’s output and at the same time reducing its raw material input.
Both the new particleboard production plant and the MDF-plant to be retrofitted will be equipped with Siempelkamp’s Prod-IQ.quality system with model-based online quality checks that will ensure material and cost-efficient production.
