SPAIN – During the first quarter of the year Spain experienced a 10% growth in furniture exports.
According to statements by Juan Carlos Muñoz, President of ANIEME, “Spanish furniture makers are making a great effort in the export field, exceeding 419 million euros in overseas sales of furniture during the first quarter.”
France, Portugal and Germany continue to occupy the top spot in the ranking of destinations and also have shown significant growth, a sign of recovery of their domestic consumption and the increase in projects that are prescribed for other destinations, as is the case of Portugal.
“The diversification of destinations to non-European markets is important to avoid excessive concentration. Good examples are the positive results of Spanish furniture sales in the United States, Morocco and Saudi Arabia, among others. Within global demand, there are clear opportunities for companies with an international vocation to decide to make an effort to open their business horizons to new destinations that offer interesting business opportunities,” added Muñoz.
