Colombian modular wooden furniture exports up 8.8% in 11M 2016

COLOMBIA – Colombian exports of modular wooden furniture totaled USD 11,284,728 in the first 11 months (11M) of 2016, up 8.8% compared to the same 11M period of 2015 when exports reached USD 10,374,506.

inval 201701 Moduart was the main exporter in the period with shipments of USD 4,506,457. With its production facility in the port city of Barranquilla and headquarters in Bogota, Moduart was also the manufacturer that reported the most growth in exports,  +32.5%, against the same period of 2015.

RTA Design (Yumbo, Valle del Cauca) with USD 3,972,462 and Inval (Palmira, Valle del Cauca) with USD 2,202,325 occupied the second and third positions as Colombia’s main modular wooden furniture exporters. Inval also registered an important increase in exports compared to the same period of 2015 as it grew by 23.9% in the 11M 2016 period.

Chile was again the main destination for Colombian exports of modular wood furniture in the first 11M of 2016 with USD 4,013,577 and a significant growth of 68.8% compared to the same period of 2015 (USD 2,378,062). The US market was second in importance in the period, with USD 2,260,609 compared to USD 1,342,690 in the same 11M period 2015, a growth of over 68%. Exports to Panama, Peru and Ecuador decreased significantly, with drops in shipments ranging from 48% to 58%.
