CHILE / COLOMBIA – MDP Vesto, the line of melamine panels with InCopper® technology introduced to the market by Arauco three years ago, launches new designs in Chile and Colombia.
The new line was created under the Contemporary Nordic design concept that follow the global trend to create warm and illuminated areas. In Chile six new designs were introduced: Caramel, Legno, Roble Rustic Oak, Scandinavian Cendra, Taupe and Maracuya (Passion Fruit). In Colombia the new designs introduced are five: Caramel, Rustic Oak, Rustic Provenzal, Legno and Taupe. This new line features neutral tones, light colored wood and a Nordic aesthetic.
MDP Vesto Melamine panels are exclusively produced at Arauco’s panel mill in Teno, Chile. They stand out for their InCopper® technology, which provides antimicrobial copper protection, eliminating bacteria, fungi and viruses with 99% effectiveness, which lasts after multiple washes, providing clean areas for people.
Vesto panels are mainly used in the manufacture of furniture, doors, wall paneling and ceilings, as well as the production of crafts and toys. Due to Vesto’s antimicrobial properties, furniture manufacturing for hospitals and schools is becoming a growing niche.
“We’re certain that these new Vesto designs will contribute to the work of designers, architects and furniture manufacturers in creating unique projects, with style”, said Felipe Montes, Marketing Manager at ARAUCO. He highlighted the fact that their projects will be both safe and sustainable due to Vesto’s antimicrobial protection and negative carbon footprint.
In 2015, MDP Vesto Melamine measured, managed and certified its carbon footprint and became the first panel in the world to do so. The result, in relation to the product’s life cycle, was a negative footprint.
