GERMANY – The wood-based materials manufacturer EGGER wins two awards at the German Design Award 2017 from a total of 4,000 submissions.
The Doppia Black-Gold furniture edge F8982 and the new surface ST76 Matex Rough Matt will both be awarded the “Special Mention” in the category “Material and Surfaces” in Frankfurt on the 10th February 2017.
“We see the ‘Special Mention’ as a recognition of our products, but also of our feel for trends, design, and innovation”, says Hubert Höglauer, Head of Marketing EGGER Group, referring to the recent awards. The German Design Award is the international premium prize of the German Design Council. Its objective is to discover, present, and honor unique design trends.
With the Doppia PMMA Collection, EGGER reacts to the trend towards accents and contrasts in furniture design. The Doppia Black-Gold furniture edge F8982 is particularly suitable for upscale interior design, on furniture fronts, tabletops, kitchen and bathroom furniture.
The matt look, in combination with stone, is particularly popular, and EGGER responded to customers’ desires with the new surface texture ST76 Matex Rough Matt. It is modeled on a mottled and softly-brushed natural stone surface, and can be applied to numerous stone reproductions, including slate and marble looks.
