GERMANY  - The international technology group Andritz is set to deliver a pressurized refining system to Sonae Arauco Deutschland GmbH's Meppen mill in Germany.

This system will be used to manufacture wood-based insulation products.

The new production line will process a variety of wood chips from different types of timber to create insulation boards for the construction industry. The startup for this project is scheduled for 2025.

Bernd Runge, Construction System Project Manager at Sonae Arauco Deutschland, expressed confidence in Andritz's fiber preparation systems, citing their significant economic and environmental advantages. He believes that Andritz's cutting-edge technology will meet their requirements and ensure the production of high-quality insulation products.

At the core of this new production line, a highly efficient pressurized refining system will be installed. It will feature a proven 44-1CP single disc refiner and a 14" plug screw feeder, contributing to improved fiber quality while reducing electrical and thermal energy consumption. The scope of supply also encompasses a C-feeder and a pressurized digester equipped with a counterflow and steam regulation system.

With 23 industrial and commercial units in 9 countries and approximately 2,600 employees, Sonae Arauco stands as one of the world's largest producers of wood-based panels.
