SPAIN – Barberán, a family business founded in 1929 and dedicated to the manufacture of industrial machinery for surface finishing, was surprised by Hymmen’s claim alleging a violation of its patents.

We transcribe Barberán’s communiqué on this subject:

“On June 18, we were astonished to learn from the professional and social media that Hymmen filed an infringement suit against us regarding their patents, EP 3 109 056 and EP 2 313 281.

All customers who know the Barberán company know about our integrity - and that it has always been our goal, or rather, to offer the market innovations and the best possible industrial solutions. Barberán began investigating single-pass digital printing technology back in 2005. This ultimately led to the development of our first industrial single-pass digital printer, BIJ300 ', which was exhibited at the' Ligna 'in 2007. Long before the Hymmen company showed their first machine.

The 'Ligna' 2007 was only the beginning for Barberán and we have never stopped investing a large part of our research and development resources in developing new and improved solutions for our customers.

Barberán firmly believes in fair competition, which is advantageous for our customers and also for us as a manufacturer and provider of a technology. We are therefore convinced that our company has not infringed any patents. We have placed this matter in the hands of a well-known German law firm that will defend our integrity accordingly.”
