U.S. - The three largest global woodworking machinery manufacturers – Scm, Homag and Biesse - have completed important expansions of their US affiliates in the last year.

SCM Group North America opened its new West Coast facility in Carson, California, last year. The new 20,000 sq.ft. location is intended to serve the western U.S. with a 5,000 sq.ft. showroom with machines under power, as well as offices and warehouse space.

The new location will offer training, machines demonstrations, in-stock machines and replacement parts for faster delivery to dealers and customers. SCM’s sales in North America topped USD100 million a year ago, making it the “first market” for SCM Group.

The Homag Group, after its acquisition of Stiles Machinery Inc in February 2014 - its largest distributor in North America with estimated sales of USD 158 million in 2013 - moved in March 2016 the operations of its affiliate Homag Machinery North America to a new 100,000 sq.ft. manufacturing facility in Kentwood, Michigan where it will manufacture the Vantech line of CNC routers  and the ABD series of CNC drilling and dowel machines.

The new expansion and company name are part of a strategy by Homag Group to invest in manufacturing demands for the local market, and in anticipation of future growth in demand.

On April 7, 2016 the Biesse Group officially inaugurated its new 23,000-square-foot Biesse America showroom in its 66,800 sq.ft. campus in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The new showroom is equipped with more than USD 3 million in state of the art machinery and will be devoted to host custom demonstrations, in-house events like 'Inside Biesse' and educational events. Biesse has increased its spare parts warehouse, valued at USD 10 million, in order to maintain and improve its guarantee to deliver 96 percent of parts on the same day.
