GERMANY – The German company for machinery and equipment, Wemhöner Surface Technologies, with production facilities in Herford, Germany and Changzhou, China, achieved sales of over EUR 100 million in 2013, a first in the Company’s 89 year history,

The main reason for this has been good order inflow for its core product, short-cycle press lines for decorative finishing of timber products used in the furniture and laminate flooring industries. Just before closing fiscal year 2013, the 500th order for the Wemhöner short-cycle press line came in for the new plant of the Kronospan Group in Belarus.

Thus, in 2013 Wemhöner with its staff of 400 employees (more than 120 of which are located in China) has for the first time achieved sales of over €100 million (2012: € 82 million).

The company expects similar level of sales in 2014 as construction is currently underway in Changzhou/China, for an additional production hall and more construction work is to follow in 2014 in Herford, Germany, where several hundred square meters of office space will be built.
