Via Varejo opens four Casas Bahia and reaches to 1000 units in Brazil

BRAZIL – Via Varejo, which operates the appliances and furniture stores under the Casas Bahia and Pontofrio banners, begins 2014 with 1000 brand stores in Brazil.

The thousandth unit, under the Casas Bahia banner, was inaugurated on the tenth of this month in the Patio Maceió Mall (AL). During the month stores were also inaugurated in Maceio (Maceio Shopping), in Aracaju (SE) and Fortaleza, the 8th unit in that city.

The openings are part of Via Varejo’s expansion plan in the Northeast of the country, an strategic business plaza for the company. Since the company planted the first Casas Bahia flag in the region, 56 openings took place during a period of 54 months.

Only in 2013, 41 new branches were opened throughout the country, including the entry into new markets, such as Paraíba and Alagoas. The company is already present in 18 states plus the Federal District.
