As a leading technology supplier in machine and plant engineering, particularly for the wood-based panel industry, Siempelkamp aims to use the network to tackle sustainability, digitalization, and the skilled labor shortage.

CEO Martin Scherrer highlighted that Siempelkamp is actively addressing megatrends like sustainability and change management, while also embracing new technologies and adapting to the evolving workforce landscape. The company focuses on sustainable business models, managing regulatory demands, and overcoming high energy costs in casting technology.

Siempelkamp is also advancing digital technologies and AI through research and innovation. By joining Maschinenraum, which connects nearly 80 family-owned businesses, university partners, and innovators, the company hopes to share and learn from best practices on topics like transformation and sustainability.

Scherrer said, “We want to think outside the box, learn from best practices, and contribute our experiences to the network. Maschinenraum offers the ideal platform for this exchange.”

Tobias Rappers, Managing Director of Maschinenraum, welcomed Siempelkamp’s membership, noting that the company’s industry expertise and experience will provide valuable insights to the network, helping tackle the challenges SMEs face in balancing business development with sustainable solutions.
