THAILAND – On March 14, a Siempelkamp system for OSB at Vanachai in Thailand was accepted, which is a success story in several respects.
On the one hand, it is the first OSB system in Southeast Asia, and on the other hand, the ContiRoll® continuous press with the dimensions 4 ‘x 48.7 meters is the longest 4’ ContiRoll® from Siempelkamp. This milestone also stands for almost 40 years of business relationship between Vanachai and Siempelkamp.
The new OSB plant, which was commissioned to Siempelkamp in late 2017, contributes 700 m³ per day to this overall performance at the location – that is, 210,000 m³ per year.
The plant supplements Vanachai’s production spectrum with OSB and thus sets new benchmarks in the Southeast Asian wood-based materials market, which was dominated for a long time by chipboard and MDF systems.
“With the new plant, we are setting ambitious targets for the wood-based material production of the future. Our panels are produced in a highly efficient manner and according to strict sustainability criteria, and our systems are state-of-the-art. In this respect, Siempelkamp is the right choice for an ambitious project like this as a long-standing and innovative partner,” says Wanthana Jaroennawarat, CEO of Vanachai.
