ITALY – SCM, one of the major exhibitors at the 25th Xylexpo Fair held from 24 to 28 May in Milan, featured a large exhibition space, more than 2,600 square meters. 

The Company presented their “EASY & RESPONSIVE” production solutions for Industry 4.0 scenarios: solutions and integrated systems for modular cells that provide smart innovations and combine sustainable investment with the ability to reconfigure production flows to meet the demands of consumers with more variety and customization of products.

Specifically, integrated cells systems, easy programming and reconfiguration and advanced storage systems that take up little space and consume less material, less energy and require less investment; automated cells with fast assembly and interfaces easier to use than ever, even for unskilled operators. Agile production systems, which respond well, are prepared for changes and are able to make “mass customization” competitive.

The group continues to grow at a strong pace, “We started 2016 with double-digit growth in orders and sales and a clear upward trend in generating cash flow,” says Luigi De Vito, Director of the Woodworking Machinery Division for SCM Group. “A record results after concluding 2015 with more than 500 million euros in sales, representing a 10% growth of over 2014. Excellent achievements, driven by our woodworking Division, which exceeded 380 million euros in sales, ie growth of 23%. These brilliant results make us the second largest company in the industry.”
