ITALY – On July 3, 2025, Acimall, the Italian association representing woodworking and furniture technology manufacturers, held its General Assembly to appoint new board members for the 2025–2027 term.
The new leadership aims to reinforce Italy’s strategic position in the global woodworking market, with a strong emphasis on digital transformation.
The newly elected members are:
- Marianna Daschini, CEO of Greda (Mariano Comense)
- Mario Moretti, Sales Manager at Costa Levigatrici (Schio, Vicenza)
- Pierluigi Paoletti, CEO of Paoletti Energy (Belluno)
- Franco Paviotti, CEO of Metal World (Udine)
- Gianluca Storti, Owner of Storti (Cremona)
They join Enrico Aureli, President of Scm Group, and Raphaël Prati, Marketing & Communications Officer at Biesse, who will remain on the board until 2026.
During the assembly, Aureli stressed the critical role of software in the sector’s future, urging a shift from traditional methods to tech-driven strategies to maintain competitiveness.
An economic report by Mecs revealed that Italy’s woodworking machinery sector comprises 188 companies employing nearly 10,000 people. In 2024, the industry reached EUR 2.47 billion in production value, with exports making up 74.1% (EUR 1.83 billion) — confirming Italy’s leadership in global markets.
The event concluded with remarks from Riccardo Cavanna, president of the new Federazione Confindustria Macchine, who emphasized unified representation for Italy’s mechanical industries and strong advocacy at both national and international levels.
