ARGENTINA – The value of Argentine imports of European wood processing machinery (panels) fell 25.8 percent in the first four months of 2023 (4M-2023).

Going from USD 1.69 million in 4m-2022 to USD 1.25 million in 4M-2023.

The main supplier of European wood panel processing technology to the Argentine market in 4M-2023 was the Italian Biesse Group with USD 431.1 thousand, which was an increase of 22.1 percent over 4M-2022 (USD 353 thousand). In 4M-2023 Biesse’s share regarding total machinery imports was 34.4 percent, compared to 20.9 percent in 4M-2022 . It was the best performance among the main suppliers of wood-based panel processing equipment to Argentina.

The also Italian SCM Group , was the second largest supplier of European wood panel processing machinery to the Argentine market in 4M-2023 with USD 422.1 thousand, which represented a slight drop of 3.9 percent, compared to 4M-2022.

Machinery Imports from the German Homag Group to the Argentine market presented a sharp drop in 4M-2023, registering USD 69.7 thousand which compares to USD 585.4 thousand in 4M.2022.

The main importers of European wood processing machinery in 4M-2023 to the Argentine market were furniture manufacturer JMI Equipamiento de Empresas, and machinery distributor Catavorello .
