ITALY –  Biesse  , global leader in manufacturing machinery and software solutions for processing wood and other materials, has officially announced the resignation of Dr. Massimo Potenza from his roles as Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director, and General Manager, effective immediately.

The decision comes as Potenza pursues new professional opportunities after nearly four years with the company. He joined Biesse in September 2020 to lead its transformation strategy.

In his place, the Board of Directors has appointed Roberto Selci as the new Chief Executive Officer, restoring the leadership of the Selci family at the head of the company. Roberto Selci, who also serves as Chairman of the Board, is the son of Biesse founder Giancarlo Selci.

“I would like to thank Massimo Potenza for his contribution to the company’s transformation journey, which led to the creation of an integrated, multi-material ‘One Company’ organization,” said Selci. “Biesse will continue to move forward with determination and a pragmatic focus on long-term value creation for all stakeholders.”

As part of his departure, Dr. Potenza—who currently holds 7,100 shares in the company—will receive a gross severance package of EUR 790,000, plus an additional EUR 10,000 for the termination agreement. He will also retain certain non-monetary benefits, while waiving participation in the 2024–2026 long-term incentive plan. In addition, he will receive EUR 180,000 under a non-compete agreement.

Several Biesse executives expressed support for the change on LinkedIn, sharing messages that welcome the return of a family-led vision and hope for a renewed phase of strength and identity for the company.
