GERMANY – Homag Group, the world’s leading solution provider of plants and machinery for the woodworking industry and for cabinet makers, has won a major contract in China. The furniture maker Oppein Home Group Inc has ordered 307 stand-alone machines with an order valued totaling over EUR 30 million.
Founded in 1994, Oppein has grown to become the largest cabinetry manufacturer in Asia. Today, Oppein directly provides jobs to 14,000 employees and boasts a 500,000 square meter manufacturing center that implements a cutting-edge production management system. Specifically, Oppein, which is based in Guangzhou, China placed a parallel order of 79 panel-dividing machines, 103 edge-banding machines and 125 CNC machines, of which 33 stem from the Homag Group’s factory in China. After delivery of the machines, Oppein will have more than 1,000 machines of the Homag Group in operation in their factories.
