GERMANY – Homag, a global leader in woodworking technology, marks ten years of breakthrough innovation in robotic panel cutting with the launch of its latest solution: the Sawteq S-200 flexTec.
This new model offers a cost-effective, automated panel cutting solution designed specifically for small to medium-sized woodworking businesses, setting new benchmarks in flexibility and affordability.
The journey began in 2015 with the debut of the Sawteq S-320 flexTec, a revolutionary robot saw that transformed batch size 1 production, allowing for customer-specific, highly flexible panel processing. This innovation laid the foundation for Homag’s continuous advancements, now used by more than 250 customers worldwide.
In 2017, the company introduced a new stacking algorithm, along with special lift tables in the robot’s operating area, optimizing space usage and operational efficiency. This technology enables fully automated, space-saving stacking while minimizing operator intervention and enhancing return on investment.
Two years later, in 2019, Homag launched the Sawteq S-300 / S-400 flexTec models. These hybrid machines brought together automated and manual modes, offering greater flexibility in everyday production. Operators could seamlessly switch between unmanned and manual panel cutting depending on production needs.
Now, in 2025, Homag celebrates a decade of robotic innovation with the Sawteq S-200 flexTec. Designed to bring automation to smaller manufacturers, this hybrid saw simplifies horizontal panel dividing and allows instant transitions between robotic and manual operation—without compromising flexibility or efficiency.
“For ten years, we’ve redefined the cutting process with every generation of robot saws,” the company stated. “From full automation to user-friendly hybrid concepts, each step forward has been possible thanks to the trust and collaboration of our customers.”
Homag’s robotic saw journey stands as a testament to its mission of delivering smarter, more efficient, and future-ready solutions to the woodworking industry.
