GERMANY – The mechanical and plant engineering company IMA Schelling Group generated sales of € 279 million in 2018 – an increase of six percent over the previous year.
The good order situation in the first half of 2018 and the increasing demand for the Group’s service products and services contributed to this.
According to the management, the IMA Schelling Group continued to grow in the past financial year. The focus was on location development. Thus, in 2018, new production halls with large assembly areas for the commissioning of the manufactured machines and plants at the Lübbecke (Germany) and Środa Wielkopolska (Poland) sites were put into operation. This measure contributes to the streamlining of processes and to higher plant quality. At the same time, it offers customers the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the system prior to commissioning.
Looking ahead to 2019, Ligna, the world’s leading trade fair for tools, machinery and equipment for woodworking, naturally dominates in the first half of the year. The IMA Schelling Group wants to present in Hanover “exciting, innovative solutions for edge processing and transport technology as well as current further developments in cutting”. The IoT platform, which was launched last year and is now ready for the market, will then be presented in detail to the specialist audience. “Due to the turbulent political situation worldwide, a slowdown in the economy has been apparent since the end of 2018 after a long period of general economic recovery. Along with this, the activities of our market are also normalizing. Nevertheless, especially in our core market of Europe, automated solutions continue to be in high demand. However, despite all the positive outlook for the IMA Schelling Group, we must not lose sight of the current economic policy risks in our future plans,” explains manager Andreas Bischoff.
