GERMANY – Variations in wood particle size continue to pose a major challenge in particleboard manufacturing, affecting board strength, surface quality, and adhesive efficiency.

To address this, Fagus-GreCon has introduced the 2D PARTICLEVIEW, an inline measurement system that monitors particle geometry in real time without disrupting production.

Installed directly within the production line, the 2D PARTICLEVIEW detects changes in particle geometry immediately, allowing manufacturers to spot issues like clogged screens or chipper wear early on. The data collected enables precise adjustments to chipping and gluing processes, improving both board quality and production efficiency.

“The 2D PARTICLEVIEW gives manufacturers a powerful tool to meet rising demands for quality and resource efficiency,” said Christian Angel, Product Manager at Fagus-GreCon. “By continuously measuring particle geometry, deviations can be corrected before they impact final board quality.”

Accurate control of particle size is essential, as it influences adhesive distribution and overall panel performance. With the 2D PARTICLEVIEW, producers can reduce material waste, lower adhesive use, and maintain consistent product standards—without requiring additional staffing.
