BELGIUM – Frederik Meyer has been appointed the new president of Eumabois, the European Federation representing woodworking machinery manufacturers. Meyer brings nearly three decades of experience in woodworking technology to his new role.

A graduate in Wood Technology Engineering from Rosenheim University, Meyer began his career 27 years ago as a carpenter in Eastern Westphalia, Germany. For the past 18 years, he has worked at Homag Group, currently serving as Executive Vice President of the “CNC Processing” business unit.

Meyer, who served as Eumabois Vice President since September 2022, officially assumed the presidency on January 16, succeeding Luigi De Vito, who stepped down to pursue new professional opportunities. The federation also announced the appointment of Enrico Aureli, president of Acimall (Italy) and vice president of Scm Group, as its new Vice President.

“Leading Eumabois is a great honor and a significant challenge,” Meyer stated following his nomination. He expressed gratitude for De Vito’s contributions and highlighted the importance of supporting innovation, safety, and performance in woodworking technologies. “The European industry must remain vigilant on the global stage, promoting advancements that are vital worldwide,” he added.

Eumabois represents the interests of over 800 companies across Europe, employing 35,000 people and generating an estimated EUR 7 billion in revenue. Its member associations include organizations from Italy, Germany, France, Austria, and several other European countries, playing a pivotal role in advocating for the woodworking and furniture industry while fostering collaboration and driving technological progress.
