GERMANY – For the first time, the Dürr Group has been awarded the highest honor, a platinum medal, in the EcoVadis sustainability assessment, placing the engineering firm among the top 1% of rated companies.
The Group’s overall score improved from 72 to 80 points compared to the previous rating, mainly due to advancements in sustainable procurement, environmental practices, and labor & human rights.
Since 2007, EcoVadis has evaluated the sustainability performance of over 100,000 companies on a scale of 1 to 100 points. A platinum medal is granted for a score of 80 or above, based on 21 criteria spanning sustainable procurement, environment, labor & human rights, and ethics.
Dr. Jochen Weyrauch, CEO of Dürr AG, commented, “The EcoVadis recognition reflects the significant strides we’ve made in sustainability. Starting from bronze, advancing to silver, and now achieving platinum, inspires us to continue our sustainability efforts. Our clients trust our sustainability expertise, benefiting from our energy-efficient and eco-friendly technologies, which enhance their production processes.” Additionally, the EcoVadis rating influences the Dürr Group’s financing costs, as interest rates for €485 million Schuldschein loans are tied to the rating, rewarding environmentally and socially responsible practices with lower interest rates.
