GERMANY – German machinery and plant manufacturer Dieffenbacher will present a range of innovative solutions at Ligna 2025, aiming to help wood-based panel producers navigate ongoing global challenges.

Located at Booth C41 in Hall 26, the company will focus on five critical issues: raw material supply, skilled labor shortages, cost and energy pressures, and environmental impact.

“We’ve listened closely to our partners over the past two years,” said Stefan Zipf, Head of Dieffenbacher’s Wood Business Unit. “At Ligna 2025, we’ll showcase new, enhanced, and proven solutions designed to address today’s complex challenges.”

To combat raw material shortages—particularly limited fresh wood availability—Dieffenbacher will present its Fiber2Fiber recycling technology. This process enables the reuse of MDF, HDF, THDF, and wood fiber insulation boards, including post-consumer materials. The company will also highlight its established waste wood recycling systems for particleboard and Waste2Product solutions that convert non-wood residues into usable products.

In response to labor shortages, Dieffenbacher offers EVORIS, an AI-powered digital platform that simplifies plant operations and supports personnel in real time. Other automation tools include the Maier Knife Ring Maintenance Center, which sharpens knife rings automatically, improving efficiency and reducing reliance on skilled labor.

Energy supply and cost pressures are addressed with Dieffenbacher’s bubbling fluidized-bed firing systems, which generate power from low-cost refuse-derived fuels. Its new Belt Dryer, which operates at low infeed temperatures and uses low-calorific energy sources, exemplifies the company’s low-energy technologies.

Environmental impact is another key concern. Integrated with EVORIS, Dieffenbacher’s carbon footprint calculatorhelps manufacturers track emissions per cubic meter of panel produced. In parallel, its energy division offers sustainable power generation solutions to reduce carbon output.

Visitors will also be introduced to Dieffenbacher’s new Lifetime Service concept, which includes a revamped customer portal, expanded spare parts availability, and stronger service teams in Southeast Asia and Latin America.

“Despite global uncertainty, we remain optimistic,” said Zipf. “We look forward to connecting at Ligna and continuing to tackle challenges together with our partners.”
