ITALY – The Biesse Group, a world leader in wood processing technology, has presented its results for the first half of 2023 (6M-2023).

Sales revenues reached EUR 418.2 million, down 0.2 percent from 6M-2022 (EUR 419.1 million).

EBITDA in 6M-2023 was EUR 47.0 million, 12.5 percent lower than in 6M-2022 (EUR 53.7 million). Net income (profit) was EUR 19.5 million, slightly higher than in 6M-2022 (EUR 19.4 million).

At the end of 1H-2023, machine order intake was EUR 314.9 million, down 18.1% compared to December 2022 (EUR 384.6 million).

Geographically, the breakdown of sales by region at the end of June 2023 was: Western Europe 51.9% , Eastern Europe 17.6% , North America 17.3% , Asia-Pacific 11.2% and Rest of the World 2.1%.

“During 2022, Biesse has taken full advantage of the global demand for capital goods and hence the previous year closed with a very significant order portfolio which continues to be reflected on 2023 turnover despite a certainly more complex market scenario..” commented the Group CFO Pierre La Tour.
