ITALY – Biesse, a global leader in woodworking machinery, has achieved a remarkable milestone by exporting 10,000 machines manufactured in India to over 75 countries across six continents.
This accomplishment underscores the company’s dedication to the “Make in India” initiative and its focus on producing high-quality machinery that meets international standards.
The success of Biesse can be attributed to its effective integration of European expertise and technology within its manufacturing operations in India. The company specializes in machinery for wood, glass, stone, plastic, and composite materials, producing machines that adhere to strict European standards. Currently, about 80% of Biesse’s total production is exported worldwide.
Sayeed Ahmed, CEO of Biesse India, stated that their Bangalore facility is the largest outside Italy and plays a significant role in their global operations. This facility empowers employees with advanced skills, enabling the production of world-class machines. Ahmed highlighted Biesse’s ongoing commitment to enhancing production and workforce capabilities, aiming to increase market share in sectors like glass and stone processing. The company is also sending trained engineers to its subsidiaries to support global markets supplied with machines from India.
The Indian government’s initiatives against substandard imports have further increased demand for high-quality, locally made products. This, coupled with the rising need for BIS-certified machinery and greater automation in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, is expected to boost Biesse’s sales.
Biesse recently hosted its flagship event, Inside Biesse 2024, at its Bengaluru showroom, attracting a large number of industry professionals. The event showcased Biesse’s latest innovations and capabilities, including the launch of new edge banding solutions, the Akron 1300 and Akron 1400.
The exhibition featured advanced technologies such as CNC machining and drilling, solidifying Biesse’s position as a comprehensive provider of multi-material solutions, including applications in aerospace and energy. Ahmed emphasized that the company remains committed to empowering customers with top-tier, Made-in-India machine technology, aiming for exponential growth in diverse sectors.
