ITALY – The Biesse Group, a global leader in wood processing machinery and technology, reported results achieved in the first 6 months of 2022 (6M-2022).

Consolidated net sales reached EUR  EUR 419.1 million compared to EUR 354.1 million in 6M-2021, with an overall increase of 18.3 per cent .This increase is attributable to the positive sales trend and the change in the scope of consolidation, which sees, compared to first half 2021, the entry of the subsidiary Forvet S.p.A., acquired at the end of 2021.

EBITDA in 6M-2022 totaled EUR 53.7 million , 30.9 per cent  higher compared to the 6M-2021. EBITDA margin improved to 12.8 per cent compared to 11.6 per cent in the first half 2022.

In the 6M-2022 Net Profit was  down 31.8 per cent compared to the 6M-2021 reaching  EUR 19.4 million.

Looking at the sales turnover by geographical area, the increase concerned  all the geographical areas of reference: Western Europe (27.2%), Asia-Oceania (3.7%), Eastern Europe (1.9%), North America (19.6%) and the Rest of the World (20.6%).

The Group’s order backlog (machinery) at 30 June 2022 rose to EUR 386 million euros, +40.7% compared to June 2021 and +1.1% compared to December 2021, with an average production visibility of more than 6 months.
