ITALY – The Italian Association of Manufacturers of Machines and Tools for Wood industry, Acimall, has elected the new board of directors.

841ACIMALL At the General Annual Assembly were elected the president, Lorenzo Primultini (Primultini) and the vice-presidents, Raphaël Prati (Biesse) and Luigi De Vito (SCM), whose mandates will be renewed next year.

Another elected member was Giovanni Sedino, currently treasurer. He will join the council next year when a new president and vice president are appointed. According to the association, this “two-step approach” for the election of the council has been adopted in recent years.

The objective is to guarantee continuity in the management of the association. In this way, an interval of 12 months is introduced between the election of the members and the election of the president and vice-presidents. The council will consist of seven members in total so that the Acimall government is even more agile and efficient.

“It was an extremely peaceful and constructive assembly,” commented President Primultini at the conclusion of the meeting, which took place on June 28th in Desenzano sul Garda (Verona). “The strong presence of the associates and the climate of full sharing testifies to the willingness of the sector to look to the future together, knowing that only with a common will to share commitments and projects is it possible to keep up the ‘made in Italy’ of technologies for wood, always one of the most significant items in our trade balance”.

The day opened with a broad contribution by Andrea Bianchi, head of Confindustria’s industrial policies, who offered attendees a complete view of the country’s major economic issues, insisting on the importance of Italian manufacturing, on the indispensable role of technology makers in a strong economy and on the relationship between industry and government.
