USA  - Ashley Furniture Homestore, one of the world's largest furniture chains, recently announced its arrival in the Colombian market with an initial investment of USD 10 million.

The opening will start in Bogota with its first store in June. It will also establish an e-commerce store and a distribution center.

The North American company plans to open 10 stores in the main cities in the next five years and expects to sell close to COP 4 billion this year. "Between Bogotá and Chía we expect to have two stores to start with, and then in Medellín, Cali, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga and even Cartagena, Pereira and Villavicencio," Pablo Sardi, general manager of Ashley Colombia, told the newspaper La Republica.

Headquartered in Arcadia, Wisconsin, USA, Ashley Furniture has expanded rapidly since its founding and currently has more than 80 stores in Latin America and more than 1,100 stores worldwide.
