CHILE - Ikea's second branch in Chile will be located in Mallplaza Oeste, in the Cerrillos district, Metropolitan Region.
Unlike the Las Condes store, which has 15 thousand square meters, the new Cerrillos branch will have a total of 25 thousand square meters, with 15 thousand meters of sales area. Due to its dimensions, there will be a larger storage space that will allow automatic product withdrawal.
With direct access to the street, the store will have the characteristic of other Ikea stores in the world: the famous "blue box", a blue structure with the brand's logo, visible from the outside.
The store will have a furniture and decorative items showroom, a self-service area, a restaurant and the Swedish market, which offers traditional products directly from that country.
The iconic yellow letters that are part of the Ikea logo, a characteristic emblem of the company, were recently installed on the store's façade.
The exact opening date is not yet known, but Falabella's CEO, Gaston Bottazzini, had revealed that the second Ikea store in Chile would open its doors in December 2022.
Francisco Errázuriz, the company's regional retail manager for Chile, Colombia and Peru, said that with this new opening in Cerrillos, almost 90% of the inhabitants of Santiago will be less than 30 minutes from an Ikea store.
