CHILE - The multinational furniture and home accessories company, Ikea, announced that it will open the doors of its first store in Chile and South America on Wednesday, August 10.

The store will be located in the Open Kennedy shopping center in Santiago, in the Las Condes district.

With over 15,300 m2 in total and a sales area of more than 8,700 m2, customers will be able to immerse themselves in a unique experience: furniture showrooms where they will be able to try, touch and feel the products. A play area for children; and a restaurant with typical food including the famous Swedish meatballs, with vegetarian and vegan variants.

As soon as the physical store is opened, the brand's website will also start operating throughout mainland Chile, which will feature the same stock and variety of products, promising the same shopping experience.

"Our teams have been working for months fine-tuning all the details so that people can live the same experience that Ikea offers in every market in which it operates. We are proud and, at the same time, very expectant because our customers will soon be able to come and see the spaces and all the products we are bringing for them," said Francisco Errázuriz, Regional Retail Manager for Ikea Chile, Colombia and Peru.

In the last quarter of the year, the company expects to open a second store in Santiago at Mallplaza Oeste, which will have about 25,000 m2 of total area, including 15,400 m2 of sales area. Meanwhile, in Colombia, the first Ikea store will open in Bogota in 2023..
