COLOMBIA - After announcing a first opening in Bogotá scheduled for 2023, Ikea confirmed that it will open another store in Medellín in the Viva Envigado Shopping Center.

A few months ago it was announced that Ikea would arrive in Bogota by opening a store in the Mall Plaza shopping center.

Hasbleidy Castañeda, Market Manager for Ikea Colombia, highlighted that “the new store will have more than 18 thousand m² of surface and will deliver the complete Ikea experience, projecting its opening for the second half of 2024. To have stores in the best locations in Bogotá and Medellín, together with an online sales channel with coverage throughout the country, will allow us to reach the largest number of Colombians with accessible design products that help improve their quality of life and that of their families ”.

This second store in Colombia will have two levels of sales area, an additional parking module and photovoltaic plants that will contribute to the generation of renewable energy.

The Viva Envigado shopping center was chosen for being one of the assets of Viva Malls, the largest chain of shopping centers in Colombia, made up of El Grupo Éxito and the Real Estate Fund of Colombia FIC.
