Sodimac opens its eighth store in Mexico

MEXICO – Sodimac, the Chilean home improvement retailer, announced the opening of its eighth store in Mexico and first in Monterrey.

949SODIMAC2 The chain formulated an expansion plan three years ago, through an agreement between Organización Soriana and Grupo Falabella to promote the brand in this country.

According to the company, Sodimac Homecenter, located on Sendero Avenue in the municipality of Escobedo, generated 150 direct jobs and has an area of 12 thousand square meters, of which 8 thousand are sales floor.

Like the other stores opened in the country, it introduces a series of innovations to the market, as it integrates the Homecenter and Constructor formats to respond in a single place to the needs in projects for building, remodeling or decorating the home.

In addition, it incorporates services such as click & collect or in-store pick-up, with the possibility of picking up products from vehicles.

Patricio Silva, general manager of Sodimac Mexico, said, “We are very pleased to reach a city as important as Monterrey, one of the country’s cultural and economic epicenters. We will continue working to meet the needs of more and more Mexican families and construction specialists.”

The company will compete with Home Depot, which has been operating in the country since 2001 and has more than 120 stores in Mexico.
